Our Philosophy

“Between us, we have more than 75 years of practice experience, and after all these years we still love what we do.”

Health comes from the inside out; it’s an inside job. You are at your healthiest when your body runs efficiently and flows well with the demands of your life as you work, play and rest.

The nervous system controls the function of every cell, tissue and organ in your body. It also processes every single event that happens in your life, all day, every day. Some of these events are routine, but many are stressful. This happens on an ongoing basis from the day we are born.

We run into trouble when the stressful events overload the nervous system. When this happens you develop stress and tension in your nervous system and in your body. Over time, this becomes an obstacle to you enjoying a state of optimal health.

We believe that the body never forgets how to function perfectly. In this state, everyone has the potential to enjoy an active, vibrant and healthy life. We work to identify and release tension in the nervous system so that your body can begin to find its way back to a healthier place.

I always say that I didn’t choose to become a chiropractor; chiropractic found me, and it has been my great joy to help my patients lead healthier lives since 1998.

When I was 20, I suffered a back injury at work that did not respond to any type of care. After eight weeks of agony, I finally took the advice of a friend and went to see a chiropractor. From my first visit, the results were nothing short of miraculous. I felt so much better, and when I was involved in a car accident six weeks later, my chiropractor helped me heal from those injuries as well.Read more

After a few months of care, I also noticed changes in my general health and well-being. And as I continued to visit my chiropractor, I saw people of all ages in his office living healthier, more vibrant lives. I realized that becoming a chiropractor was something that I simply HAD to do.

After 3 years of studying Kinesiology at the University of Victoria, I went on to complete my chiropractic education at Palmer College of Chiropractic in San Jose, California, graduating as class valedictorian in 1997. My practice has a special focus on prenatal care and care for young infants. There is nothing more magical to me than a parent handing me their newborn and trusting me with their baby’s care.

I believe that it is never too early or too late to benefit from chiropractic care, and I witness the benefits in my patients every day. My job as a chiropractor is to give each person’s body the tools it needs to return to health, stay healthy, and maybe even become healthier and more vital over time.Read less

My chiropractic journey began before I can even remember: my mother received care from a chiropractor when I was still in the womb, which helped her deliver me as a very large baby, with little difficulty. It wouldn’t be until a few years later that chiropractic entered my life again.

I was nine or 10 years old when I began suffering from leg pains, which were quite severe at night. The medical treatment consisted of wrapping my legs in pressure bandages and then wearing prescription therapeutic shoes. They were nothing like what the other kids were wearing, and I remember receiving a lot of teasing about them! When all this therapy failed to help, my mother decided to take me to visit the chiropractor. Adjustments to my pelvis began to allow these awful pains to recede, and I became an active, thriving kid again. Read more

In later years, I saw the chiropractor for various sports injuries and felt the treatment helped me heal more quickly. When it came time to decide what I wanted to do with my life, I recalled the help I had received from the Chiropractor. With this in mind, I applied to Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto. Upon graduation in 1976, I moved to Belleville, Ontario, and set up practice, eventually running a large multi-doctor clinic with my brother. After 27 years there, I made the move to Vancouver Island and set up practice in Victoria.

I feel very fortunate to have been involved with so many patients over nearly 50 years of practice. The body’s innate wisdom and ability to heal itself is truly miraculous. This is why I can smile when patients discover that not only are they pain free, but also that many other aspects of their lives have improved as well. I particularly enjoy the tough cases: people who have been everywhere and seen many different providers and are still suffering. To see these folks regain their health and get back to doing the things they love to do is one of the many reasons that I love being a chiropractor as much today as when I first started practice in 1976.Read less
